Winding Down

Winding down the school year this week. We are working on obtaining a recycling dumpster for school.

This was in the garbage - ugh! This can go in the paper recycling!

We have a paper recycling dumpster that ANYONE can donate to behind our school.

Here is what we can accept in the paper dumpster.
Help us raise money by donating. Thank you.

Recycling Kick Off Assembly

Tomorrow, Friday, May 6th, Landmark High School will be having a kick off assembly for our recycling program and assemblage art projects that we have been working on for quite some time now. We will be having relay races that go with our recycling theme, learning more about the advantages of recycling, watch our project video that shows everything we have done up to now, and we will be giving our awards for the winning assemblage projects.
Today we have been busy making trophies which will be the awards for tomorrow's assembly. In keeping with our recycling theme, the trophies are made of reused objects from jewelry to gum boxes.

Spray Painting Project

Today, students spray painted shirts for our kick-off assembly this coming Friday. We will be giving the shirts away for the class that wins the assemblage art project. Hopefully the shirts will remind the students to keep on recycling in and out of school.

Getting The Word Out!

Tonight, four of my students gave a recycling presentation at the Spanish Fork City Council Meeting. They went over who we are, what we are doing, how we are doing it, and how the city can support us. They did a fantastic job! The presenters are Mykenna Craine, Becca Noland, Kayla Pace and Dillon Snow.

The city council and Mayor Wayne Andersen were impressed with our efforts and are allowing us to display some of our Assemblage Art projects at city facilities.

We were also approached by two media agencies who want to help us tell our story!

I want to tell ALL of my students that I am so proud of them and all of the work they have put into this project. You are all incredible! You have led out this recycling charge and started something big - you are Dragons! Thank you so much!

Becca worries about what she just got herself into with this presentation.

Dillon is our pro - not nervous at all!
